Work continues to transform MacKenzie Complex at Alfred State College. When originally constructed in the 1970’s, the sloping site was responded to with a maze of stairs and retaining walls. This resulted in exterior spaces chopped up with limited visibility, no ADA accessibility, and no room for students to gather.
As the phased approach to MacKenzie continues, the site is being modernized to create open courtyards. The new design provides space for students to gather outdoors.
