Phase 2 of the Capital Project at East Aurora Union Free School District is nearing completion and included improvements for safety, occupant comfort, academic and athletic success. Security upgrades included a new secure entrances for the elementary, middle and high schools. These renovations were carefully done to maintain the design of each school, and in the case of the middle school historical architectural elements will be highlighted.
Air conditioning was added to some locations, mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades were made to increase energy efficiency. Elevator and ADA improvements along with fiber optic upgrades were part of the project. Academic elements of the project include a new STEM classroom, music suite reconfiguration, science labs, computer lab and classroom upgrades. Athletic improvements include reconfiguring locker rooms for privacy and upgrades to the weight room and gymnasium bleachers.
The high school kitchen has been modernized and varied counter seating with charging stations was added to the cafeteria. A brand new concession building with indoor grill, refrigeration, storage, restrooms, and a covered area for concession lines has been built to support booster clubs and sports attendees.
